Regarding the dog flu issue, we completely understand the concern of pet parents! We are happy to report that we've seen a decline in cases since it was first reported. In fact, we haven't encountered any recent respiratory cases among our clients. This trend seems to be in line with what the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) is observing nationwide. Here is an article that was recently published by the AVMA.
As always, it's crucial for owners to keep their dogs up to date on all vaccinations, including Bordetella and CIV (canine influenza virus). Additionally, owners should use caution when exposing their dogs to other unknown dogs.
We can ensure that our facility requires proper/ up to date vaccinations, isolation, and cleaning protocols.
We continue to encourage that all dogs should be evaluated by a veterinarian if any respiratory signs (e.g., coughing, sneezing, eye/nose discharge, etc.). develop.
We hope this information is helpful – please let us know you have any further questions or concerns, and we look forward to your return.
We’re here to help!
Sincerely, the Sit Social Team
