Keep an eye for Doggie Colds

We want to share a quick update with our community, because your pups’ health and safety are always our top priority. Recently, we’ve been made aware of a few reports of dogs in the city—including some who have visited Sit Social—with confirmed cases of kennel cough.
Kennel cough (also known as canine cough/the common dog cold) is similar to a common cold in humans. While it can sound concerning—usually a dry, hacking cough—it is typically mild and treatable with rest and care from your veterinarian. Most dogs recover quickly, but just like with people, it’s best to be cautious and proactive. We are being proactive by closing daycare reservations for a few days (closing Monday Aug 25th, Tuesday Aug 26th, Wednesday Aug 27th) in order to sanitize and allow our clients to monitor their dogs. We apologize for any scheduling inconvenience but the health and safety of the dogs in our care is always our #1 priority.
Here’s what we recommend:
Keep an eye out for coughing, sneezing, or nasal discharge in your pup.
Reach out to your vet if you notice any symptoms, even mild ones.
Let us know if your pup has been diagnosed and keep them home so we can take extra precautions for the pack.
At Sit Social, we’re doubling down on our cleaning and sanitizing protocols, removing shared toys for the time being, and monitoring all dogs closely to help minimize any spread. Our team is here to support you and your pup, and we’ll continue to keep you updated with transparency and care.
We know how much you love your furry family member, and we love them just as much when they’re here with us. Thank you for trusting us, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns—we’re in this together.
With love and care,The Sit Social Team
