#6 Enrichment

Sometimes, it's a little too hot for your pup to safely enjoy the summer sun. That's why it's important to have some indoor activities planned, too!

Looking for something easy? Fill up a plastic toy, like a Kong, with peanut butter. Place it in the freezer (we always like to have a couple on hand!) When your pup is feeling bored and antsy inside, let them at that toy! It will take them a good amount of time and energy to get through it, and it's a tasty treat, too! Your dog can also enjoy a frozen Kong as an add-on service during daycare or boarding at Sit Social.

Another great idea is treat puzzles. You can purchase them online or in your local pet store; some are more difficult than others. Fill the puzzle with small treats and challenge your dog to get their reward! They will have to paw, think, and discover new ways to get to their tasty treats. It's fun for them, and it's fun to watch, too!

If you don't own a puzzle, another great trick is to place treats in a towel and roll it up tight. It still provides a challenge in a more DIY-friendly way! You can use a smaller or larger towel depending on the size of your pup.

#7 Chicago Farmers Market's

Summer morning's are cool, refreshing and bright. That's why it's a great time to visit a Chicago Farmer's market! There are many dog friendly options, many of which even sell dog related products. What's not to love?

The Logan Square Farmer's Market begins this weekend, May 12, and boasts over 70 different vendors! With lots of space to take a break and relax, it's the perfect doggy outing to meet new people and try some new treats. Check it out every Sunday until October!

The Green City Market in Lincoln Park is local to Sit Social, and hosts a large variety of booths and musicians every Wednesday and Saturday from April to November. The market also includes sustainable foods and community events your pup will love!

After these tips, we hope your summer will be exploding with fun for you and your fluffy friend! Don't forget to be on the lookout for events hosted by Sit Social this summer, or stop in for a ice cold treat. Summer fun has just begun!
